Participants will explore engagement and the level of thinking in the math class. Using nontraditional methods and giving students the opportunity to work together, we can increase engagement and meaningful, productive discussion and thinking amongst our students. We will investigate group formats, learning tasks, learning environments, lesson structure, teacher feedback, and measuring understanding. Small changes and additions to existing methods is the goal. Participants share ideas and materials. Suitable for teachers of grades 5-12.
