The issue of gender gaps is not new. Gender inequities have occurred in education and in the workforce throughout history, and continue today. Schools have made efforts be gender blind, but this alone doesn’t resolve the problem. Boys and girls are different in their motivation, learning styles, behavior and academic strengths. Surprisingly, boys outperform girls in better socioeconomic areas, and the reverse is true in low-income schools. This course is for teachers who want to learn more about gender gaps in schools and better reach all students, regardless of gender.
