5/5/24-6/1/24: Childhood Disorders and the Classroom: Learning the Basics of Common Childhood Behavioral Disorders and the Impact in the Classroom

(ADHD, Pervasive Developmental Disorders (Autism), Anxiety, Depression and Oppositional Defiant Disorder).  Are more of your students coming to school with a variety of diagnoses?  Do you feel knowledgeable about these disorders? Do you feel prepared to support these students in your classroom? If you are hoping to gain a better understanding of childhood disorders and are looking for ways to support these students in your classroom, then this course is for you.  The bulk of this course will be informative. At the end of each week we will discuss best practices for addressing each disorder.  Finally, we will discuss ways to effectively communicate students’ progress with parents.  Please note: this course is informational…it will not allow you to diagnose any childhood disorders. Suitable for all grade levels.
