Positive Psychology is the scientific study of what makes us happier, less stressed, and more resilient. This course will focus on foundational research in the field of Positive Psychology and specifically on its applications for the classroom, a.k.a. Positive Education. Teachers will learn and apply theories of Positive Psychology to their own lives and to their classrooms. Schools that have applied this research report decreased behavior issues and increased student resiliency, along with improved student curiosity, love of learning, and creativity. Teachers will develop and share implicit and explicit uses of Positive Education for their classrooms. Teachers will also learn how to increase their own happiness levels. This course addresses multi-state Social/Emotional Learning Standards. You’ll be happy you took this course. : ) This course is suitable for all teachers.
